Book Reviews
Educated in the forefront of western sciences and with a deep understanding of Chinese culture, Dr. R. C. K. Lee is uniquely suited to bridging the gap between the East and the West. He came to the U.S. in his teens and earned his B.Sc., M. Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
For many years, Dr. Lee was a professor of Engineering as well as an entrepreneur in business. His study and practice of his philosophy, including Christian and community service made great advances on the connection of Eastern and Western wisdom and compassion. This book is very unique. It is highly recommended.

Congratulations, Dr. Lee, for a job well done. You are leaving your legacy to the next generation by writing this book and share all the success stories and wisdom of a Chinese scholar. I am so touched. I recommend this book to all my friends and their off springs…

I found this book to be most interesting and motivating. The readers will benefit greatly from the author’s experience and wisdom. I particularly enjoyed the juxtaposition of Eastern and Western examples and anecdotes.

There were many wise insights in the book. I believe that this is more of a motivation book than a how-to book. It certainly lifted my spirits as a valued human being and offers some suggested direction for life. It is also a book on how not to fail by abusing substances. I found this book very useful for myself and I believe it will be very useful to many others.
- Howard Chen, CEO, WorldTech Devices.
This book should be required readings for all high school and college graduates.

The answer exists, but it’s not always obvious. “Standing on the Edge of Tomorrow, You Can Make a Difference!” is an inspirational guide that calls for people to embrace philosophy – while hard work is a solid virtue; it is not the panacea to all of life’s woes. Encouraging creative thought, faith, and helping others along the way, author Robert Lee gives readers small tips to aid them down the rough road of life. “Standing on the Edge of Tomorrow” is well worth the read for those who can’t find the way out but know it’s there.

A man born without limbs, a church started at a drive-in (the pastor preached from the snack bar), a janitor who is putting his son through medical school. All of these stories have one theme in common: success. Success in the face of challenge, and how to achieve it, is the launching point for Standing On The Edge Of Your Tomorrow Take Charge And Win. Positivity abounds in this manual of applied wisdoms, both from Eastern and Western cultures. Dr. Robert C.K. Lee has studied considerably, both in the United States and throughout the Orient, and in his travels he has stepped out in curiosity and faith to ask life’s most fundamental questions. Here is the insight he has collected along the way, constructed into an extensively detailed account of real-life stories, extraordinary common folk, and people with a public presence alike; many gathered philosophies and thoughts (all credited to the Almighty Father God) and tidbits of information stressed to promote a healthy mind/body/spiritual balance.
Dr. Lee has included the challenges and victories of such prominent figures as Helen Keller, Albert Einstein, and Mother Teresa, just to name a few. He illustrates the commonality between all of humanity in that we all yearn for greater, whether we strive for it is where we become divided. Some people stretch beyond what their internal restraints caution against, to where greatness is born. This book succeeds in focusing on positivity and awareness through inspiring and faith-based stories. It does have a minor lack of cohesion, and I say minor because I agree that success and health are unquestionably related, however there are certain areas of interest that seem distinct from the text. He does, nonetheless, cover a multitude of topics, all equally interesting (particularly in Appendix A-The Amazing Hummingbird) and interconnected in the definition of success. He provides the strategies to gain what is so oft hoped for, all the while reminding us that “Success is a journey, not a destination.” Indeed, he has provided his readers with a wise traveling companion along the way.
